Oh! Fort Pillowton's still here! It got a lot bigger! And… orange?
Joy

Fort Pillowton is an attraction and a structure located in Imagination Land.

History[]

Inside Out 2[]

When Joy, Anger, Fear, and Disgust tried to get to the Back of the Mind to retrieve Riley's old Sense Of Self, they cut through Imagination Land. Joy and the others were confused about it shrinking. Since most of the attractions had been torn down, such as Cloud Town and Trophy Town, the only familiar sight Joy could find was Fort Pillowton. Joy was perplexed by the orange glow inside the pillow fort. They went inside and find Mind Workers at animation desks. Anxiety ordered them to draw up every possible worst-case scenario, and send them to Riley. Joy convinced the workers draw positive scenarios instead, starting with her own. This led to a giant pillow fight and the destruction of Anxiety's monitors.

Appearance[]

Fort Pillowton is a large pillow fort. Once Anxiety took control, the inside of the fort was renovated. There were cubicles made out of playing cards from the house of cards, with chairs and animation desks. Monitors projected the worst-case scenarios.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • Director Kelsey Mann had noted that the scene where Joy and Anger convince the Mind Workers to stop drawing is inspired by four films; Field of Dreams, Jerry Maguire, Norma Rae, & Network.[1]
  • The scene where one of the workers throws a chair, causing the screen that Anxiety controls to break and turn off is similar to the one in the commercial by Apple, titled 1984, in which a woman wearing shorts, and a shirt with the iconic Macintosh computer picture proceeds to throw a hammer, damaging a screen which a Big Brother like figure took control of, representing how Apple was introducing a computer, known as the Macintosh to make profits.[2]
